Gerry and Lois and our tour business partner, Neville Gardner, have been taking tour groups to Ireland for many years.  And when our itinerary takes us to Northern Ireland, we never miss the opportunity to take our tour group on the Derry City Walking Tour with Ronan McNamara.  His knowledge and wit combined with his own personal Irish-Chinese-Buddhist background provide an unbiased account of the local history  as well as Northern Ireland's promising future.
A tour not to be missed!

                               The Brigadoons
One of the best Scots-Irish ceilidh bands around, their home base is Glengarry County, Ontario, Canada.  After many albums and a recent 25 year reunion, the Brigadoons are still going strong, having performed numerous times in Disney World, at highland gatherings all over the USA and Canada, as well as several Caribbean cruises.  They've had the honor of playing for Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II during her visit in 1984 and, perhaps more importantly, at Gerry Timlin's wedding in 2005!

Patsy Whelan

Born in Dublin, Patsy burst on the Boston Irish music scene and has developed legendary status in Beantown. With his fingers flailing across the strings of his guitar and fiddle, Patsy does not rest until everyone in the room is up on their feet celebrating in dance and song, no matter what the occasion

The King Brothers

While firmly rooted in the traditional "brother" style duets of the bluegrass world, the KING BROTHERS bring all of their drive and tight vocal harmonies to the Irish folk genre as well.  On festival stages from New Jersey to Ireland, or in clubs and pubs from Pennsylvania to Virginia, the KING BROTHERS  deliver  solid professional musical entertainment!
Instrumentally, the duet expertly performs, in various combinations, on guitar, 5 string banjo, mandolin, bouzouki and tenor banjo.  Their  instrumental interplay is at times hauntingly spare and beautiful in support of a lovely Irish ballad. At other times, the powerful drive of cascading notes can bring an audience to the very edge of  madness!

Danny Doyle

If Danny Doyle is a folksinger who aspires "to link his present to his country's past and live anew in knowledge of his sires," then his songs and deep affection for Ireland's dramatic history offer profound evidence that he indeed sings with the blood, defiance and humor of the Irish flowing through his veins.

The band was formed in the fall of 1982 when Marc Loan joined up with Dave and Al Rabideau in the Rochester, NY area. Performing in venues throughout upstate New York and across the Northeast, the Trio played a variety of music. With Dave's background of British and Irish traditional folk, Al's American rock and jazz influence, and Marc's upbringing around country and bluegrass it wasn't long before the band had a repertoire of eclectic styles. In 1986 Al Left to pursue his educational dreams and is now a professor at University of Buffalo, teaching engineering (proving that the Trio is extremely intelligent). Marc and Dave did some duo work as well as some individual projects before Fred Vine teamed up in the late 80's. Fred's influence on the new trio became immediate because of his blues, jazz and rock style.

men of worth Men of Worth In 1986, Scotsman Donnie Macdonald and Irishman James Keigher came together to perform Irish and Scottish folk music, combining traditional and contemporary styles. The name Men of Worth was chosen from the title of a folk song written by the Scottish singer and songwriter Archie Fisher. Together, Men of Worth blend their voices with harmony, and support their collection of songs with their varied selection of instruments. They have a very simple approach to their presentation, and in keeping with tradition, remain true to the music and story. Their show is a unique combination of humour, exciting tunes, and soulful, heartfelt ballads. Men of Worth are an international act, and have earned much respect and success in two decades of touring. Performing concerts, festivals, and having recorded seven albums, Men of Worth continue the very tradition from which they evolved.

scanton irish logoIrish Cultural Society of Scranton, Pa
"The Irish Cultural Society of Scranton is a group of men and women who claim to be either of Irish descent or who just believe it is fun to be in the group. The group has been together for 25 years and is very involved in furthering Irish culture both in USA and in Ireland. To accomplish this end, the society has established a small library of research and literature in the ICS building, along with a fantastic group of dancers. The organization has been involved in an annual Irish Festival, the Montage Hooley, which in the past few years has been held at Montage Mountain. Come visit them and stay a while if you'd like.
